Armenian Cathedral in Lviv and Its Creators - A Documentary Enhanced With Animation

Armenian Cathedral in Lviv and Its Creators

The Armenian Cathedral in Lviv is one of the most important cultural heritage landmarks in this part of Europe — a place where centuries of history, tradition, and artistic expression meet. When the pandemic limited travel and museum visits, the Museum of Cultural Dialogue in Kielce decided to bring the story of this remarkable cathedral directly to the audience in an accessible form.

At that moment, I was entrusted with creating the documentary accompanying the exhibition. I handled both the editing and the addition of animated elements that highlight key parts of the narrative and bring dynamic flow to the film.

A Journey Through Centuries of Armenian Heritage

The film takes viewers on a vivid journey through the history of the Armenian Cathedral — its architecture, transformations, and cultural significance. Expert commentary by Dr. Michał Wiśniewski from the International Cultural Center in Kraków guides the audience through the historical context, revealing the secrets of the cathedral and the stories of its creators.

Thanks to his knowledge and carefully selected visuals and materials, the documentary explores how the cathedral evolved over centuries and what role it played in the life of the Armenian community in Lviv.

A Cathedral Connecting Cultures and Traditions

The Armenian Cathedral is not only an outstanding architectural monument — it is a living testament to the blending of cultures, rituals, and artistic influences. In the film, I highlight the details that reveal the multilayered identity of this place:

• original decorations and murals,
• characteristic liturgical elements,
• unique architectural details,
• symbolic elements embedded in the cathedral's structure.

All these components create an image of a space that for centuries has been a center of spirituality, community, and cultural dialogue.

My Contribution: Editing and Animated Enhancements

In this film, I was responsible not only for editing but also for creating animated elements that enrich the viewing experience and help guide the audience through the story. I prepared:

• animated logos,
• dynamic informational overlays,
• clear transitions and visual accents,
• elements that organize and support the structure of the narrative.

These animations are subtle yet meaningful — they emphasize essential information and bring a modern touch to the film without overshadowing its core message.

History Accessible to Everyone

Thanks to this project, anyone — regardless of distance or limitations — can learn about the history of the Armenian Cathedral in Lviv and its significance throughout the region’s past. The film is more than a documentary; it is an invitation to understand a heritage that continues to inspire and build bridges between cultures.
