Ecce 2 - A Visual Reflection on the Power of Taste
“Ecce 2” is my personal visual reflection created for the 13th DFF Slavangard, shaped around this year’s theme: “The Power of Taste.” While working on the piece, I turned to imagery that has long fascinated me - the prophetic visions found in the Book of Ezekiel and the Book of Revelation. Both texts contain a striking, symbolic motif: the eaten book or scroll. It is an act that goes far beyond reading. The word becomes something physical - an experience with a taste that stays within the person and sets transformation in motion. Sweet and bitter at once. A taste that demands response. In my project, I try to capture that moment when a human being doesn’t merely encounter a message but lets it enter, allowing it to become part of the inner self.
